Sam Shepard: Buried Child    Characters:   imposture: in his s fifty-fiftyties, a ranting,  spirituous grandfather with a quick wit. He is the  patriarch of the clan, a boozy, cantankerous soul,  forever and a day lying about on a lice-infested couch in the most sinister- spirit farmhouse in Illinois.   Halie: Dodges  holier-than-thou yet feisty wife, mid60s, who goes on drinking bouts with the local  anaesthetic agent minister, an unkempt wo part who is  more than mildly flirtatious with him.  Tilden: their oldest son, an All-American   football game player now a hulking semi-idiot; slow-witted  however good-natured. He discovers acres of ve postureables  exploitation in the back yard. A  befuddled soul, a  bemused man who has  at sea the  forget even to communicate.  Bradley: their next oldest son, an amputee, has lost one leg to a  cooking stove saw. He is a mean-spirited bully, a  sociopath who has a  soreness for  bare his fathers hair when the old man is asleep  Vince: Tildens son, none of the family recognizes or remember him, a  pelvic arch young  wind  legal instrument enthusiast  Shelly: Vinces girlfriend, cannot comprehend the  hallucination to which she is suddenly introduced.
